Internet penetration varied significantly, depending on company size, the report concluded. Practically all large companies (those with more than 250 employees) and SMEs (more than 50 employees) had internet access during the research period. This compared to only 70% of micro-enterprises, businesses defined as those with 5–9 employees.

By sector, internet penetration was highest in the financial sector (90%), but significantly lower in tourism (55%) and agriculture and fisheries (67%).

Broadband internet penetration, meanwhile, saw increases in every company category and economic sector. The rise was most pronounced at large companies, where the ratio of broadband access rose from 59% to 93% in one year ending September.
